IDP recognises that the well being of its staff and other persons likely to be affected by the company’s operations is vital to the company’s primary goal of business excellence. IDP has therefore committed to conduct its business in a way that minimises the risk of injury or ill health to its employees, contractors, visitors and customers.

This achievement of this goal is a process of continuous improvement and relies primarily on the systematic identification, assessment and control of hazards and risks, underpinned by awareness of the relevant legislative requirements. Additionally IDP set objectives and targets, and measure and monitor their achievement through regular inspections, audits and the thorough investigation of accidents and incidents.

The success of this policy requires the involvement and all staff involved on projects, and relies on strict compliance with the IDP Safety Management System. IDP’s management team places a primary responsibility on all personnel to ensure the implementation and maintenance of health and safety controls and procedures. In addition, IDP employs competent personnel and ensure they are provided with sufficient information, instruction and training to carry out their work activities and responsibilities.

IDP is committed to making available adequate resources to fulfil this policy, and ensuring that its staff are consulted and involved during planning of projects and also at every relevant stage during their life cycle. In return, IDP requests that all persons working operate in such a way which presents no risk to themselves or others; thereby meeting the company's expectations.

IDP makes every effort to ensure that throughout every project lifecycle, from initial contact with a prospective client to the sign-off of the final data and reports, all stages of that project are conducted within a well documented, rigorous and auditable quality assurance framework. Project managers and offshore survey personnel refer to and follow procedures laid down by the company's management team which define individuals responsibilities and provide overall guidance on the high standards required by the company. Compliance is ensured under monthly review meetings on all ongoing projects, with discipline controlled offshore on an ongoing basis.

The achievement of standards and best practice in its various activities is promoted by IDP through staff training. Staff are provided with in-house training on the performance of relevant tasks and activities, which supports the use of written guidelines, and regularly attend relevant external training courses. All staff undertake a formal annual appraisal by trained appraisers.

IDP's financial activities are subject to strict controls, with internal and external audits conducted on a regular basis. A full-time Financial Administrator is employed to ensure compliance with the financial rules and procedures.

IDP is currently working in accordance with ISO9001:2000.
